Liero Xtreme or LieroX is a fast-paced 2-D shooter, and is the most popular rework of the original Liero. It features both netplay and local hotseat games. The game is highly customizable, meaning that it is possible for players to create their own characters, levels and weapons. The latest game release is LieroX pack 1.9, which was released November 30, 2006. It can be downloaded here.
